AppLock mette sotto chiave il tuo iPhone!

 Interessantissimo il progetto del DavTeam che sta lavorando su un’applicazione in Jiggy molto utile:

con AppLock potrai impostare una password per ogni applicazione che desideri. Ad esempio puoi fare in modo che venga richiesta una password quando apri SMS.

Il DavTeam sta ancora sta testando l’applicazione e tra poco uscirà una public-beta, quindi non ci resta che aspettare!

MooCowMusic annuncia Band!

Ho letto su TouchPodium che MooCowMusic ha annunciato l’imminente uscita di BAND: un programma all in one che include oltre alle famose applicazioni già rilasciate in passato, anche uno Scratcher (attendiamo sempre la prima release di MixMeister…), una console per mixare i brani e un Basso!

Spettacolo!

Inoltre si potrà configurare gli strumenti a proprio piacimento, regolare i volumi, registrare e riprodurre i brani realizzati con Band.

Purtroppo Moo non ha ancora detto quando uscirà il programma, ci toccherà aspettare con ansia la prima release!

Feature List

Multiple instruments
- MooCowMusic:Band places no restrictions on instrument type. Drums, bass, guitars, keyboards can all be played and recorded into one song from the same application.
- There is also no limits on the instrument interface graphically, enabling not only standard instruments but also unusual, outlandish, or completely novel instruments to be created.

User-designable instruments
- All instruments in MooCowMusic:Band are defined as properties text files, making it easy to create your own instruments to use within the app.
- Each instrument comprises:-
- A full-screen image to use as a backdrop for the instrument.
- A number of Wav file samples.
- Additional (optional) images to use as overlays to show that a key is being pressed.
- A properties file defining a number of “Triggers” (rectangles of the screen) that will play a sample and display an overlay when pressed.
- Instruments are packaged into a folder, making it simple to share them with others.
- Each instrument can have up to 50 Triggers, making complex interfaces possible.

Recording and Playback
- Any instrument can be recorded, or overdubbed onto a previous recording.
- The only limitation is note polyphony (a maximum of 20 samples playing concurrently).
- Each instrument has an overlayed panel at the top of the screen containing all the common controls for recording and choosing an instrument.
- Via a settings menu, the user can erase any mistakes by:-
- Erasing the whole song.
- Erasing the currently selected instrument from the song.
- Erasing the last 10 notes recorded.
- Erasing the last note recorded.
- After erasing, the user can go back and overdub replacement notes onto the track

Metronome
- To aid in timing, a metronome is available which can be enabled or disabled during recording.
- The metronome tempo is configurable, as is the number of “beats per bar”.

Advanced audio engine
- Up to 20 note polyphony.
- Samples stop when you lift your finger, allowing more expression via sustain.
- Configurable Attack stage of playback allows samples to fade in gradually.
- Configurable Release stage of playback allows samples to fade out when you release the note.
- Samples can be defined to loop for as long as the key is pressed.
- A global volume control for the application allows you to mix the sound with other sources.
- Each instrument has a separate independant volume control that can be modified while the song is playing.
- Each instrument can be independantly muted.
- Each instrument can be “soloed” (mute all other instruments and just allow this one to play).

 

Fring per iPhone – Skype e tutti i più famosi IM in un unico Software

Su Symbian uso Fring da diverso tempo (su Nokia E70) ed immaginavo che prima o poi sarebbe uscito anche per OSX mobile ed infatti… Eccolo!

Da Fring.com leggo che la pre-release è stata sviluppata in collaborazione con l’HIT (Holon Institute of Technology)

Progetto GPS su iPhone e iPod Touch – Hike.app da Simba

GPSD è un demone per l’I/O dei dati GPS con sistemi Unix. Tramite questo demone, Simba ha sviluppato Hike.app
Senza un modulo GPS l’applicazione risulta inutile, ma tra gli obiettivi del progetto c’è anche quello di permettere la navigazione off-line delle mappe, con lo stesso metodo discusso qui, utilizzato anche dalle applicazioni Maps Offline e iLM.
Speriamo che il progetto prosegua; l’intento è quello di avere un modulo GPS a basto costo (qui il relativo progetto) che si interfaccia con un software Open Source.

Modificare le stringhe della SpringBoard con Customize 2.0!

Niente di più facile:

dopo essere entrati in “edit system strings” si sceglie la lingua della SpringBoard

 

poi si seleziona la stringa da modificare

E si inserisce il testo

Testando Customize 2.0 beta …

Ho installato Buuf2, il tema più gettonato! Effettivamente è proprio bello!
Questa è la schermata d’installazione e preview, molto in stile Installer!

Purtroppo non sempre si riesce ad utilizzare in modo fluido il Theme Browser di Customize 2.0 beta.
Il server a volte sembra non rispondere, o comunque sembra esserci molto traffico di rete verso il server dei temi.

Comunque con un pò di pazienza si riesce a sfogliare i temi e ad installarli correttamente!

Io lo sto provando ora… provatelo anche voi!

test:
l’ho testato su firmware 1.1.3 e si apre correttamente, ma non riesce a connettersi al Theme server, e non mi permette di fare molto.
Poi ho installato il firmware 1.1.4 jailbreak con Ziphone 3.0.
Ho installato Customize 2.0, ma l’applicazione va in crash all’apertura.
Penso sia necessario modificare in 777 i permessi su Customize.app e su /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

 Per altri con firmware 1.1.3 è stato necessario fare così:

1- Installate SUID Library fix ( sia per 1.1.3 che per 1.1.4 )

2- Disintallate customize 2.0

3- Tappate il tasto home e lasciato che la springboard faccia un refresh

4- Ora riaprite l’installer e reinstallate customize 2.0

5- Fate un refresh della sprignboard e ora dovrebbe funzionare tutto

Tecnologia Morph? Nokia 888!

Ho visto il video su Geekissimo, e ve lo ripropongo anche qui.
Nokia 888 è un Concept Phone basato sulla tecnologia Morph.
Suppongo non sia già stato sviluppato e che il video sia frutto di computergrafica. In ogni caso viene ben spiegato quali sono le possibilità e i punti di forza delle nanotecnologie.

Nokia Morph Concept è in sviluppo anche grazie alla ricerca in atto al Cambridge Nanoscience Centre

Quando l’ho visto pensavo fosse un’altra genialiata di Marco Giorgini, ma stavolta non è così.
